Feel 10 Years Younger

The vagus nerve projects from your brain to all your major organs. It plays a primary role in the control and regulation of a range of unconscious bodily functions, such as heart rate, digestion, sleep and immune response.

Decline in the activity of the nerve, particularly as we age, is linked to many minor health issues, such as mood changes, disruption of sleep patterns, problems with digestion and immune system strength, and reduced capacity for exercise.

Daily stimulation of the vagus nerve using micro electrical pulses has been shown to have a positive effect on health and wellbeing.

Scientifically Proven

Recent studies have shown that directly stimulating the nerve via one of its branches in the ear, can help increase vagal tone (the level of activity in the nerve) and slow the onset of age related changes, helping to maintain quality of life and promote healthy ageing.

The vagus nerve emerges from the base of the brain and branches up into the ear (the auricular branch) and down along the neck into the rest of the body, connecting to the major organs.

The auricular branch of the nerve can be targeted at the tragus of the ear; it presents an ideal location to stimulate the nerve.

Simple to Use

Auricular Clip
Conductive Paste

It looks a bit like vaseline but it's actually conductive paste. You put a little smudge on the gold electrodes of the clip before clipping the clip to your tragus.

The conductive paste greatly reduces the resistance between your skin and the electrical circuit.

The effect of using paste is to greatly reduce the sensation of the stimulation. In our tests users were able to stimulate at much higher levels without discomfort when using this conductive paste.

When using the device with the supplied conductive paste, you may feel very little or nothing at all from the stimulation. This is perfectly normal.

If you are unsure, try using the device without the conductive paste. You should feel a tingling or prickly sensation, which some people find unpleasant. The conductive paste is included to make stimulation more comfortable.

If you do feel something, this will be a result of activation of the sensory receptors in your skin. It actually has nothing to do with stimulation of the vagus nerve, which runs below the skin.

Your skin contains receptors for pain, pressure and temperature. What or how much you feel (with or without paste) is dependent on a number of factors including your skin type and sensitivity. Most scientific and clinical studies which investigate the benefits of tVNS will set the stimulation intensity to a level that is completely (or almost completely) imperceptible.

The device itself measures the flow of current. If no current is flowing this will be indicated.

If you prefer to feel something, use the device without conductive paste (or with very little) and set the intensity to a level that you can tolerate. You may find that after some time, your skin becomes accustomed to the sensation and can tolerate an increased intensity. You should set the level to the maximum you can tolerate without feeling discomfort.

Independent publicly funded research conducted at two leading UK Universities in 2019 found that just 15minutes of vagal nerve stimulation per day can greatly improve the health and well being of all individuals in the general population, with the most dramatic improvements shown in the over 55s.

The two teams of scientists, from the Biomedical Sciences and the Life Sciences departments of Leeds and Glasgow Universities, were funded by the Dunhil Medical Trust, a charitable (not for profit) research organisation which has a particular focus on healthy aging.

The researchers found that participants experienced benefits after just two weeks of continuous daily administration of tVNS to the tragus of the ear. The most significant improvements were seen in those who began with the weakest vagal tone (a measure of the health of the vagus nerve) and suffered more from the related symptoms such as tension, depression, low energy and poor quality of sleep.

I'm quite a fan of these nifty little devices. They're easy to use and seem to help me unwind at the end of the day. It’s pretty weird in the beginning. Sort of prickly. But I got a bit used to it and now a session just kind of phases me out. Just wipe out the tensions of the day. It's actually really nice. I’m not sure if it’s improving my health, but it's improving my mood.

I bought this for my wife as a surprise gift. She often has difficulty falling asleep and I'd read that an improved vagal tone could help. I'm happy to report that after a couple of weeks of use she seems to be sleeping better. Which consequently means I'm sleeping better 🙂

I have bought this stimulator not being sure how it would work. I have used it few times now and I must admit I am nicely surprised the way it works.
Can change levels of intensity to your desire. Only 15 mins though. Feels good.
It is a very good product and I am very happy of my purchase.

    Nicely surprised

I wasn't honestly expecting much, but it does indeed work as described. As other reviewers have said, whether it has some long term benefit to my health is to be seen. But so far, I find it strangely enjoyable and calming in the evenings. And it does indeed reduce my blood pressure -- which is great!

I am always looking for non-pharmacological ways to lower my blood pressure and have been testing tVNS.
In tests so far I find 15 minutes does lower either systolic, diastolic or both. Not everytime, but most. I will update this review in ~3 weeks.
